In 2025, Toyota is set to bid farewell to the current A90 GR Supra model, with a Final Edition that will see only 300 units produced for Japan and Europe. While Australia will not receive this Final Edition, it will have its own Track Edition arriving around the middle of the year. The announcement of the Track Edition’s launch was accompanied by statements from Toyota Australia’s sales executive, Sean Hanley, hinting at the end of the fifth-generation Supra’s run in Model Year 2025.
The Track Edition will be equipped with the familiar 285kW/500Nm output from the BMW-sourced 3.0-litre turbo inline-six engine. Despite not matching the Final Edition’s power upgrades, the Track Edition will feature enhancements such as a larger front anti-roll bar, carbon-fibre rear spoiler, and other performance-focused improvements. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be available for the Track Edition, aligning with Toyota’s racing endeavors like the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.
Meanwhile, the Final Edition destined for Japan and Europe will boast increased power outputs of 320kW and 570Nm, along with upgrades like larger Brembo brakes, KW suspension, and enhanced aerodynamics. Noteworthy features include a carbon-fibre front spoiler, swan-neck rear wing, and other race-inspired elements that set it apart from the Track Edition. The Final Edition will also ride on Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires, offering superior grip compared to the Track Edition’s rubber.
Toyota’s commitment to the Supra lineage has been evident since the A90’s debut in 2019, with notable successes in various motorsport events. The Track Edition and Final Edition mark the culmination of this chapter, signaling the end of an era for the iconic sports car model. The Final Edition’s technical specifications, including the engine, transmission, drivetrain, and suspension details, underscore Toyota’s dedication to delivering a high-performance driving experience in its ultimate iteration.
As fans anticipate the arrival of the Track Edition next year, the automotive world reflects on the impact of the Toyota GR Supra series, which has left a lasting impression in the realm of sports cars and performance vehicles. With limited production runs and exclusive features, the Final Edition and Track Edition offer enthusiasts a chance to own a piece of automotive history before the A90 GR Supra exits the stage for the next chapter in Toyota’s sports car legacy.
