Toyota is bidding farewell to its iconic GR Supra with the Final Edition, set to make a grand exit in 2025 with a significant power boost and exclusive design enhancements. This Final Edition will be a limited release of only 300 units worldwide, each packing a punch with 429 horsepower, a refined suspension system, and a unique aesthetic appeal.
Having been in production for six years, the GR Supra Final Edition marks the end of an era for this collaborative venture between Toyota and BMW. Despite the discontinuation of this model, the final version promises to captivate enthusiasts with its upgraded performance and distinctive features that set it apart from its predecessors.
Initially speculated to be named the GRMN version, the Final Edition will not carry that title. However, what ignites excitement among fans is the substantial increase in power output, alongside the enhanced chassis, sportier interior, and refreshed exterior design that are sure to garner enthusiastic approval.
The heart of the Final Edition lies in its engine, with the 3.0-liter six-cylinder powertrain now delivering an impressive 429 horsepower, up from the previous 381 horsepower, and a torque boost to 420 lb-ft. Toyota’s focus on acceleration and responsiveness is evident, hinting at improved performance that may potentially shave off precious seconds from the standard model’s acceleration time.
Enhancements extend beyond the engine, with a revamped exhaust system producing a more resonant sound, courtesy of a new catalyst and airflow adjustments. The inclusion of an Akrapovič titanium muffler and enhanced cooling mechanisms further elevate the driving experience. Noteworthy improvements in the drivetrain and braking system promise enhanced control and handling, complemented by the upgraded Brembo brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for increased grip.
Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe has left its mark on the Final Edition’s exterior, incorporating aerodynamic enhancements inspired by motorsport designs. From a removable hood duct to a carbon-fiber spoiler reminiscent of the GR Supra GT4, the visual upgrades exude a sense of performance and flair. The interior receives a touch of luxury with red accents on the steering wheel, seats, and seatbelts, alongside carbon-fiber Recaro bucket seats that enhance the racing-inspired ambiance.
Set to debut in Japan and Europe, the Final Edition is slated for a Spring 2025 launch in the US and Europe. While details on pricing and availability in the US remain undisclosed, the exclusivity of the limited 300 units hints at a premium over the outgoing model. As Toyota bids adieu to the GR Supra, the Final Edition stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and performance in the automotive industry.
