In a move that is set to excite car enthusiasts, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Edition R has been unveiled for sale in Australia. This limited-edition vehicle offers a blend of enhanced features and a more appealing price point compared to the standard GLC 43 models.
Available at Mercedes-Benz dealerships across the country, the Edition R SUV starts at $128,900 plus on-road costs, while the coupe version is priced from $141,600 plus ORCs. These figures represent a considerable saving for buyers looking to own the latest special edition AMG GLC.
One of the standout additions to the Edition R is the new Race driving mode, designed to elevate the engine and transmission response. The inclusion of Mercedes-AMG dynamic engine mounts further enhances the driving experience across various settings like Sport, Sport+, and Race.
Externally, the Edition R boasts the Night Package II, featuring a darker grille, dark chrome accents, and blacked-out badging. Complementing the sporty look are 21-inch AMG light-alloy matte black wheels and striking red brake callipers.
Inside the Edition R, buyers will find the Performance Seat Package Advanced, which includes seats wrapped in Artico synthetic leather and Microcut fabric. The seats are accented with black trim, red stitching, and red seatbelts, adding a touch of sporty elegance to the cabin.
Exclusive to the Edition R is a special trim and an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Microcut suede and Nappa leather. These premium touches further elevate the luxurious feel of the vehicle’s interior.
While the Edition R offers additional features, the standard GLC 43 already comes well-equipped with a host of amenities such as a Burmester 3D surround sound system, panoramic sliding roof, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and advanced tech like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the hood, the GLC 43 retains its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering a total output of 310kW and 500Nm. This powertrain, combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, propels the SUV from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
The Edition R is available in a range of color options, including Polar White, Verde Silver, Graphite Grey, High-Tec Silver, Obsidian Black, and Spectral Blue, along with three premium hues: Patagonia Red, Opalite White, and Alpine Grey.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has announced that the Edition R models will be produced in limited numbers, adding an element of exclusivity to these special edition vehicles. The company has not disclosed the exact quantity of units that will be imported into the Australian market.
Overall, the release of the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Edition R presents an exciting opportunity for buyers to own a unique, sportier version of the popular GLC 43 models at a more attractive price point, combining performance, luxury, and style in a limited-edition package.
