The 2025 Mazda CX-80 SUV has been unveiled by Mazda Australia, marking the arrival of the brand’s latest three-row family vehicle in the Australian market. Priced from $54,950, the CX-80 is positioned as a narrow-body SUV, expanding Mazda’s large product portfolio. This model serves as the successor to the popular CX-9 and is an elongated version of the existing CX-60.
Featuring four trim grades – Pure, Touring, GT, and Azami – the Mazda CX-80 offers a range of powertrain options to cater to different preferences. These include a turbocharged 3.3-liter straight-six petrol engine, an equivalent diesel engine, and a 2.5-liter petrol-electric plug-in hybrid. The plug-in hybrid variant boasts a 17.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing an electric cruising range of up to 65km.
Each Mazda CX-80 model comes equipped with Mazda’s eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels through the brand’s ‘i-Activ’ all-wheel drive system. The entry-level Pure trim offers standard features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, wireless smartphone mirroring, and a comprehensive suite of safety equipment. This trim is exclusively available with the turbo-petrol engine.
Stepping up to the Touring trim introduces additional luxuries including electrically adjustable leather seats, heated front seats, an electric tailgate, and compatibility with both diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The GT grade enhances the CX-80 with features like 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a premium Bose sound system, and advanced technology.
The range-topping Azami trim elevates the CX-80 with luxurious appointments such as 20-inch machined wheels, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree parking camera with ‘see-through’ view. An optional SP package is available for Azami variants, enhancing the SUV’s aesthetics and comfort with black alloys, Nappa leather seat trim, and additional features.
With a starting price of $54,950 for the Pure G50e trim, the Mazda CX-80 offers a compelling option for families seeking a versatile and well-equipped SUV. The availability of different powertrains and trim levels allows customers to tailor their CX-80 to suit their preferences and needs.
The introduction of the Mazda CX-80 to the Australian market reflects the brand’s commitment to offering a diverse range of vehicles that cater to various customer demands. With its blend of style, performance, and technology, the CX-80 is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive SUV segment, providing a compelling choice for discerning buyers.
