This particular edition, scheduled for Sunday, 19th May at the Calder Park Thunderdome, is set to coincide with similar events worldwide as part of the Collecting Cars Worldwide Coffee Run initiative. The goal is to bring together a record number of car enthusiasts, aiming to establish the largest-ever global car ‘meet’ of its kind.
Lee Hallett, the Head of Asia-Pacific for Collecting Cars, highlighted Melbourne’s rich car culture, noting the diverse range of European exotics, muscle cars, and Japanese models that contribute to the city’s vibrant automotive scene. The upcoming Melbourne Coffee Run follows a successful event in Sydney, which saw over 2200 cars on display, including prestigious models like the McLaren Senna GTR and Lamborghini Diablo Roadster.
Collecting Cars, known for hosting numerous motoring events annually, has gained prominence since its establishment in 2019. With over 14,000 vehicles sold on its platform, totaling a value of $AU1 billion, the platform has become a significant player in the automotive auction industry.
