In a blog post, Triple Eight boss Jamie Whincup reflected on the team’s history, highlighting the significance of completing the first Triple Eight-built Ford Mustang Supercar. Whincup emphasized the team’s successful stint with Ford from 2003 to 2009, which saw multiple victories and championships, setting the stage for future dominance.
Whincup expressed pride in the team’s efforts in constructing the new Mustang, underscoring the dedication and hard work that went into the project. The transition to Ford signifies a new chapter for Triple Eight, with the team’s return to the Blue Oval brand sparking enthusiasm among team members.
With Ford Racing rebranding its global arm and the Mustang Supercars set to carry the new branding from 2026, Whincup emphasized the renewed partnership with Ford Racing and the shared vision for success. The move to Ford represents a strategic decision aimed at advancing the team’s future prospects in motorsport.
