Subaru Australia has unveiled the WRX tS Spec B, a high-performance variant priced at $61,490 before on-road costs, making it the priciest WRX in Australia that isn’t a full STI model. The Spec B, a manual-only flagship, inherits components from the limited Club Spec SE and global variants.
The WRX tS Spec B boasts exclusive features such as 19-inch matte grey alloy wheels, Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, Recaro seats, and gold Brembo brake calipers. It also sports a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and STI performance exhaust mufflers, a distinctive touch not found in other WRX models.
Subaru’s Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) is integrated into the WRX tS Spec B, enhancing safety by monitoring driver inputs and facilitating controlled stops when necessary. Despite these advanced features, the vehicle maintains the same turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine as the rest of the WRX lineup, generating 202kW and 350Nm of torque.
The WRX tS Spec B is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system with torque-vectoring capabilities, ensuring optimal power delivery to the road. The model offers buyers a choice of eight colors, with the new Galaxy Purple Pearl replacing the Solar Orange Pearl option.
While the Spec B lacks a sunroof, it retains electronically controlled dampers linked to five drive modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport, Sport+, and Individual. The inclusion of the digital instrument cluster, a first for the Australian market, sets the WRX tS Spec B apart from its predecessors.
Subaru enthusiasts can now pre-order the WRX tS Spec B, which combines STI performance with a host of exclusive features, underlining Subaru’s commitment to delivering high-performance vehicles to its customers. The model’s pricing reflects its premium status in the WRX lineup and showcases Subaru’s dedication to offering top-tier performance vehicles to the Australian market.
With the WRX tS Spec B hitting the Australian market, Subaru continues to uphold its reputation for producing high-performance vehicles that cater to the discerning needs of driving enthusiasts. The Spec B’s blend of advanced technology, exclusive features, and STI enhancements positions it as a standout offering in the WRX range, appealing to drivers seeking a thrilling and dynamic driving experience.
