Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Sets New Electric Car Lap Record at Interlagos

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package has once again made headlines by setting a new lap record for electric cars at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo. This achievement marks the fourth record set by Porsche with this electric sports car, following previous records at iconic tracks like the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Shanghai International Circuit, and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California.

On February 5, 2025, Felipe Nasr, a seasoned Porsche works driver and three-time IMSA champion, blazed through the 4.3-kilometer Interlagos circuit in an impressive time of 1:42.1 minutes. Nasr’s record-breaking lap not only surpassed the previous record set by the Taycan Turbo S in 2022 but also edged out an earlier production-car lap record set by the 911 Turbo S. The challenging Interlagos circuit, known for its mix of high-speed stretches and technical sections, provided the perfect backdrop for this feat.

Nasr shared his exhilarating experience behind the wheel of the Taycan Turbo GT, emphasizing the car’s acceleration, torque, and overall performance.
