As we journeyed from Cairns to Springmount Raceway, the allure of a drag strip in such a breathtaking location became evident. The Northern Nats, now in its ninth year, stood out as a must-attend event, drawing enthusiasts from all corners. This year, the collaboration between Summernats and Springmount Raceway added an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.
Throughout the three-day extravaganza, attendees were treated to a diverse range of activities, including drag races, roll racing, cruise sessions, powerskids, and the popular Pro Burnout Series. The Champion driving events put contestants to the test, with Cairns local Dennis O’Brien emerging victorious with his home-built HZ-fronted HQ One Tonner.
