Mercedes-Benz Australia has introduced a new limited edition of the AMG GLC 43, named the Edition R, offering exclusive features at a reduced price point compared to the standard model. This new variant is available for order at Mercedes-Benz dealerships, with pricing starting at $128,900 for the wagon version and $141,600 for the coupe, making it more affordable than the regular GLC 43 models by $5,900 to $12,700.
The Edition R comes equipped with the AMG Dynamic Plus package, which includes dynamic engine mounts, a selectable race mode, and matte black 21-inch AMG Y-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, it features the AMG Performance Seat Package Advanced with synthetic leather and suede trim, complemented by red stitching and exclusive metal trim. The standard model’s nappa leather and suede steering wheel are enhanced in the Edition R, along with a Burmester sound system.
Additional standard features include heated and electric front seats with memory function, dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto smartphone mirroring, a wireless charger, and ambient lighting. The Edition R also boasts a panoramic sunroof, dark tinted glass, head-up display, 360-degree camera, automatic parking, and a comprehensive suite of active safety technologies.
Customers can choose from a range of paint options for the Edition R, including ‘Polar White’, ‘Verde Silver metallic’, ‘Graphite Grey metallic’, ‘High-Tech Silver metallic’, ‘Obsidian Black metallic’, and ‘Spectral Blue metallic’. Extra-cost options such as ‘Patagonia Red’ metallic, ‘Opalite White’, and ‘Alpine Grey’ are also available.
Under the hood, the Edition R retains the C 43 and GLC 43’s 310kW/500Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering a swift 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.8 seconds. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission, with adaptive dampers and rear-axle steering as standard features.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Edition R is part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to offer premium performance vehicles with enhanced features and a touch of exclusivity. The Edition R is now available for purchase, providing enthusiasts and luxury car buyers with a compelling option within the AMG GLC range.
