Kemal Curic has been appointed as the new head of Ford Performance Design, marking a significant shift in the design leadership of the Ford Performance Vehicles division. Curic, hailing from Sarajevo with a background in Germany and Croatia, has harbored a lifelong passion for American Muscle Cars and automotive design. His journey to this prestigious role began with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design followed by a Master’s degree in Transportation Design.
His career trajectory commenced at Ford of Europe in 2003, where he contributed to designing popular models like the Fiesta, Mondeo, and Kuga. Curic later transitioned to the United States, specifically Dearborn, to work on the iconic 2015 Mustang. Noteworthy milestones in his career include his role as the Exterior Design Manager for the Lincoln Continental in 2013 and subsequent positions as Chief Designer for the Aviator and Corsair models. His tenure as Head of Design for Lincoln since 2019 has been marked by the successful creation of standout vehicles like the China Zephyr and the Nautilus, as well as overseeing the development of the latest Navigator.
In his new capacity at Ford, Curic will be entrusted with enhancing the design language of key models such as the Mustang and Ranger Raptor, aiming to further solidify Ford’s presence in the performance vehicle segment. His wealth of experience and proven track record in automotive design positions him as a strategic choice to lead the design direction for Ford’s performance vehicles, ensuring a blend of innovation, functionality, and aesthetic appeal in future models. This appointment underscores Ford’s commitment to pushing boundaries in automotive design and performance, setting the stage for exciting developments in the competitive automotive landscape.
