Haupt Racing Team Joins Forces with Ford Performance for 2025

In a significant motorsport development, Haupt Racing Team (HRT) has announced a strategic partnership with Ford Performance for the upcoming 2025 season. This collaboration marks a transition for HRT, a German privateer GT team, from their previous association with Mercedes-AMG to becoming a Ford Performance Mustang GT3 customer team.

The new venture will see HRT fielding the Mustang GT3 across various prestigious European racing series, including DTM, NLS, and the renowned Nürburgring 24 Hours under the banner of “HRT Ford Performance.” Additionally, HRT will engage in competitions such as ADAC GT Masters and the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance and Sprint Cup series alongside Ford.

A highlight of this partnership is the Mustang GT3’s debut at the ADAC RAVENOL 24 hours Nürburgring in June, expanding the car’s presence in major 24-hour races. The Mustang GT3 is set to compete at iconic circuits like the Rolex 24, Le Mans 24 Hours, and Spa 24 through programs managed by Multimatic and Proton Competition.

Mark Rushbrook, the global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, expressed enthusiasm about HRT joining Ford’s global racing family, citing HRT’s successful track record in events like the DTM and GT World Challenge Europe. Rushbrook highlighted the significance of this collaboration, emphasizing the Mustang GT3’s participation in prestigious races worldwide, including at circuits like Le Mans and Daytona.

Ulrich Fritz, Managing Director of Haupt Racing Team GmbH, expressed excitement about the partnership, acknowledging Ford’s esteemed motorsport heritage and the high-performance capabilities of the Ford Mustang GT3. Fritz emphasized HRT’s expertise in race car development and the team’s readiness to elevate the Mustang GT3 to new heights in European competitions.

The move to align with Ford Performance signifies a strategic shift for HRT, leveraging the team’s experience and success in GT racing to bolster Ford’s presence in the competitive European motorsport landscape. The collaboration is poised to enhance the visibility of the Mustang GT3 in key racing events and attract a broader audience to Ford’s racing programs, marking a significant milestone in both companies’ racing endeavors for the 2025 season.
