Bentley has revealed its latest masterpiece, the Ombre by Mulliner paint finish, showcased on the new Continental GT Speed during Monterey Car Week at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. This intricate hand-painted technique marks a new level of sophistication for Bentley and will be available worldwide through their retailer network.
The Ombre process is a labor-intensive art that involves blending two colors seamlessly across the car’s body. It demands over 56 hours of meticulous craftsmanship by Mulliner technicians at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe. Each application is a bespoke creation, requiring skilled painters to adapt to the nuances of color blending in real-time to achieve a flawless transition.
The debut model features a stunning gradient from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, following the contours of the GT Speed’s muscular silhouette. The 22-inch wheels are also designed to mirror this two-tone finish. Inside the vehicle, the gradient theme continues, with Topaz covering the front seats, steering wheel, and instrument panel, gradually merging into darker Beluga leather towards the rear, accented by Dragonfly stitching for a touch of elegance.
