Haupt Racing Team Joins Ford Performance for 2025 Season

In a significant move for the 2025 racing season, Haupt Racing Team (HRT), a renowned German privateer GT outfit, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Ford Performance. This collaboration marks a departure from their previous association with Mercedes-AMG, as HRT will now field the Ford Performance Mustang GT3 in various prestigious European series like DTM, NLS, and the Nürburgring 24 Hours under the banner of “HRT Ford Performance.”

The expansion of this partnership will also see HRT competing alongside Ford in the ADAC GT Masters and the SRO-sanctioned Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance and Sprint Cup series. A notable highlight of this collaboration is the Mustang GT3’s debut at the ADAC RAVENOL 24 hours Nürburgring in June. This addition to the Mustang GT3’s 2025 racing calendar signifies its presence at major 24-hour races, including the Rolex 24, Le Mans 24 Hours, and Spa 24.

Mark Rushbrook, the global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, citing HRT’s impressive track record, which includes securing the 2021 DTM Drivers’ Championship and a 2023 GT World Challenge Europe title. Rushbrook emphasized the significance of having a team like HRT join Ford Performance, highlighting their success in various race series and their upcoming participation in iconic races like the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Ulrich Fritz, Managing Director of Haupt Racing Team GmbH, conveyed HRT’s excitement about collaborating with Ford and described the partnership as an honor. Fritz praised Ford as a powerhouse brand with a rich motorsport heritage and highlighted the potential for elevating the Ford Mustang GT3 to new heights through their joint efforts. He emphasized HRT’s expertise in race car development and expressed confidence in their ability to enhance the performance of the Mustang GT3.

The alliance between HRT and Ford Performance signifies a strategic move aimed at strengthening Ford’s presence in GT3 racing globally. By expanding their racing program and entering new series, Ford aims to reach diverse audiences and solidify its position in the competitive world of motorsport. The collaboration between these two entities is not only a testament to HRT’s evolution and success but also a reflection of Ford’s commitment to innovation and excellence in racing.
