DJR Extends Historic Partnership with Ford in Supercars

DJR, the renowned Ford team, has recently solidified its longstanding partnership with Ford in the Supercars arena. This extended agreement marks a significant milestone in the history of collaboration between DJR and the Blue Oval company. The Queensland-based team, known for its impressive track record boasting 10 drivers’ titles and four Bathurst victories under the Ford banner, unveiled the fresh Shell V-Power Racing Team livery for the upcoming 2025 Repco Supercars Championship. The team also introduced Brodie Kostecki as a new addition to the DJR driver lineup, alongside the experienced two-time Bathurst champion, Will Davison.

The affiliation between DJR and Ford stretches back over 40 years, with the team serving as a prominent representative of Ford in the Australian Touring Car Championship and Supercars. Notably, the team’s founder, Dick Johnson, clinched five drivers’ championships and three Bathurst 1000 wins during the 1980s and 1990s, solidifying the team’s legacy in motorsport history. Additionally, drivers like John Bowe, James Courtney, and Scott McLaughlin have also achieved championship victories driving for DJR.

In a parallel development, Triple Eight Race Engineering recently announced its transition to Ford starting in 2026, marking a significant shift in the Supercars landscape. The move positions Triple Eight as Ford’s designated homologation team, pending team approval. Despite this change, DJR remains firmly aligned with Ford, as affirmed by Team Principal Dr. Ryan Story, who highlighted the impending finalization of the longest sponsorship agreement between DJR and Ford Performance.

The continuity of the partnership underscores DJR’s commitment to Ford and its loyal fan base, ensuring that the team remains an integral part of the Blue Oval family for the foreseeable future. This decision comes at a pivotal moment as the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship is set to kick off in Sydney, offering fans an exciting season ahead. With Ford’s presence in Supercars also encompassing teams like Tickford Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United, Grove Racing, and Blanchard Racing Team, the competition is poised to intensify in the coming years.

As the motorsport community anticipates the unfolding of the new season, the strengthened bond between DJR and Ford sets a positive tone for the future of Supercars racing. The collaborative spirit between the two entities, rooted in a rich history of success and shared achievements, paves the way for continued excellence on the track. Fans can look forward to witnessing the legacy of Ford Performance and DJR flourish as they write the next chapter of their storied partnership on the Supercars circuit.
