Whipple-charged 1956 Ford F100 Dominates MotorEx with Coyote Power

At the recent Meguiar’s MotorEx event, the spotlight was on a remarkable 1956 Ford F100 that stole the show with its powerful modern upgrades. This classic truck, owned by Adam Bickerstaff and expertly crafted by Viking Hotrods in NSW, stood out among a wave of hot American truck builds showcased at the event.

Adam’s love for the distinctive design of early F-trucks led him on a quest for the perfect ’56 model, ultimately acquiring a pristine roller that had made its way to Australia. The decision to equip the truck with a modern blown Coyote engine, featuring a Whipple supercharger producing around 700hp, was a strategic move to blend classic aesthetics with high performance and drivability.

The transformation of the ’56 F100 included significant modifications such as a front-tilt bonnet kit, shaved doors, custom hardlid, and tailored metalwork to accommodate the Coyote engine. The interior received a makeover by Inside Rides, incorporating airbag suspension controls and custom elements to complement the truck’s overall theme.

The attention to detail paid off at MotorEx, where the F100 clinched Top Street Machine, Top Interior, and Top Bodywork awards, earning praise from industry veterans like Mike and Jim Ring of Ringbrothers. The truck’s unique features, including a bespoke aluminium fuel tank and a striking PPG Envy paint finish, garnered admiration and recognition from enthusiasts and experts alike.

Adam’s dedication to the project, supported by the skilled team at Viking Hotrods and his wife Jacky, resulted in a show-stopping vehicle that combined classic charm with modern performance. As the F100 prepares to hit the road, Adam looks forward to embarking on new automotive ventures while cherishing the memories and accolades earned through this remarkable build.
