Motors and Masterpieces: Melbourne Showgrounds Hosts Spectacular Car Show

Melbourne Showgrounds was the center stage for a breathtaking display of automotive excellence at the Motors and Masterpieces car show. This event, which succeeded the renowned Motorclassica, delighted car enthusiasts with a collection of over 200 vehicles spanning from classic to modern supercars. From vintage treasures to cutting-edge models, the show offered a glimpse into 120 years of automotive evolution.

The show, held indoors to the delight of visitors, welcomed the public daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Attendees were treated to a mesmerizing array of vehicles, including the sleek McLaren Speedtail, the iconic Ferrari Enzo, and the much-anticipated Australian debut of the Lamborghini Revuelto. The exhibition was not just a display of cars but a journey through time and culture, with 10 themed areas showcasing cars from Italy, Germany, France, the US, Australia, and Japan.

In the ‘La Dolce Vita’ section, Italian automotive craftsmanship shone through with a stunning lineup of Ferrari and Lamborghini masterpieces, from the Testarossa to the Countach and beyond. For fans of American muscle, ‘California Dreaming’ presented a selection of legendary cars from Detroit’s finest, featuring models from Ford, Chevrolet, Buick, Chrysler, and Lincoln. Japanese car aficionados were not left out, as the ‘Tokyo Lights’ exhibit showcased vehicles from Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Datsun, Prince, and Mazda.

Highlights included a tribute to 110 years of Maserati, alongside vintage gems like the 1904 Fabrique Nationale motorcycle and the 1910 Willys Overlander Model 40. Modern innovation was on full display with the presence of the Porsche 911-based Singer DLS.
