Kemal Curic, a seasoned designer with a rich background in automotive design, has been appointed as the new Head of Ford Performance Design. Curic, hailing from Sarajevo and having spent his formative years in Germany and Croatia, has a deep-rooted passion for American Muscle Cars and vehicle aesthetics, which has significantly influenced his design philosophy.
His journey in the automotive industry began with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, followed by a Master’s degree in Transportation Design. Curic embarked on his professional career at Ford of Europe in 2003, where he contributed to the design of iconic models such as the Fiesta, Mondeo, and Kuga. His talent and dedication led him to Dearborn, USA, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the 2015 Mustang, showcasing his innovative approach to vehicle design.
Over the years, Curic has held key positions within the Ford family, including serving as the Exterior Design Manager for the Lincoln Continental in 2013. He further solidified his reputation as a visionary designer by leading the design teams for the all-new Aviator and Corsair models, garnering acclaim for his distinctive style and attention to detail. In 2019, Curic assumed the Head of Design role for Lincoln, overseeing the successful launch of models like the China Zephyr and the Nautilus, as well as the latest iteration of the Navigator.
In his new role at Ford Performance, Curic is tasked with enhancing the visual identity of acclaimed models like the Mustang and Ranger Raptor. His wealth of experience and innovative design approach are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the performance division, aligning with Ford’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and technology.
