The 2026 model year brings a series of updates to the Mazda CX-90, the automaker’s three-row crossover that has been on the market for a few years now. This latest iteration of the CX-90 comes with several enhancements, despite a slight increase in price. The starting price for the CX-90 now stands at $40,330, including destination charges, marking a $755 increase from the previous year. However, this price bump brings a range of new features and improvements to the vehicle.
One of the key changes for the 2026 CX-90 is the availability of the Polymetal Gray Metallic color option, adding a fresh aesthetic choice for buyers. Additionally, the Select model now includes features like all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, LED headlamps and taillights, rain-sensing wipers, and hands-free Alexa technology. Inside, the CX-90 offers faux leather seating for up to eight passengers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, a 10.3-inch center display, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Powering the majority of CX-90 models is a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup is complemented by a 48-volt mild-hybrid battery, enhancing both efficiency and throttle response. The engine is available in two configurations: 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque for lower trims, and 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque for higher Turbo S trims. Despite the power variance, both configurations offer the same EPA ratings of 23 miles per gallon in the city, 28 on the highway, and 25 combined.
For those prioritizing eco-friendliness, the CX-90 continues to offer a plug-in hybrid option. This setup combines a 2.5-liter inline-four engine with a 17.8-kilowatt-hour battery, delivering a total output of 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The plug-in hybrid model retains its electric-only range of up to 26 miles before switching to the gas engine.
With a total of nine trim levels to choose from, buyers have a plethora of features and options to tailor their CX-90 to their liking. Premium upgrades include 21-inch wheels, a larger 12.3-inch center display with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 12-speaker Bose stereo system, a panoramic sunroof, second-row captain’s chairs, ventilated Nappa leather seats, and a 360-degree camera to enhance safety features.
Mazda has already made the 2026 CX-90 configurator available for both the Turbo and PHEV models, allowing prospective buyers to customize their vehicles. The company expects the refreshed CX-90 to hit dealerships before the end of the year, offering consumers a blend of power, efficiency, and advanced features in a stylish package.
