BMW has introduced an upgraded version of its i4 M50 electric vehicle, now known as the i4 M60, with enhanced power and performance. Initially appearing quietly on the company’s Dutch website, the new model boasts 593 horsepower, a 57 hp increase from its predecessor, while maintaining the same torque at 586 pound-feet. This power boost shaves off two-tenths of a second from its acceleration time, now reaching 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, with a top speed capped at 140 mph.
Aside from the power upgrade, the i4 M60 also showcases improvements in its driving range, now offering a WLTP range of 432 to 551 kilometers. Despite a slight reduction in the maximum range compared to the previous model, the new i4 M60 retains an 81.1 kWh battery capacity and a maximum DC charging power of 205 kW. Energy consumption has seen a minor increase, now ranging between 21 and 16.6 kWh/100 km.
Furthermore, the latest iteration of the electric M Performance 4 Series Gran Coupe has undergone a 5-kilogram weight reduction, tipping the scales at 2,285 kg in its Dutch configuration. Charging speed has also seen a marginal improvement, with the i4 M60 able to add up to 185 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes. These enhancements, coupled with the power boost, make the i4 M60 a compelling option in BMW’s electric vehicle lineup.
With the gradual rollout of the i4 M60 on regional websites, an official launch is anticipated in the near future. This updated model represents BMW’s commitment to enhancing its electric vehicle offerings and catering to the evolving demands of the automotive market. As the industry continues to transition towards electrification, BMW’s advancements in electric vehicle technology position the brand competitively amidst a landscape of evolving consumer preferences and sustainability goals.
Experts in the automotive sector commend BMW’s strategic approach in updating its electric vehicle lineup, citing the i4 M60 as a testament to the brand’s dedication to innovation and performance. The increased power output, improved range, and faster charging capabilities of the i4 M60 underscore BMW’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge electric vehicles that combine performance with sustainability.
As electric vehicles gain traction in the automotive market, BMW’s investment in refining its electric offerings reflects a broader industry trend towards sustainable mobility solutions. The i4 M60’s arrival signals a new chapter in BMW’s electric vehicle portfolio, catering to discerning consumers seeking high-performance electric vehicles without compromising on driving dynamics or range.
