After a brief hiatus, the distinctive Blue Oval badge has made a triumphant return to adorn the noses of all 10 Ford Mustang Supercars competing in the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship. This marks a significant change from the previous season when the Ford badge was notably absent from the fleet.
The decision to remove the iconic logo from the Mustangs last season was in line with the road-going Mustang models, which also do not feature the traditional Ford badge. Instead, Ford Performance branding took center stage across various Mustang race programs worldwide. However, the Blue Oval has now reclaimed its position on the nose of every Ford racing in this year’s championship.
Notably, the Ford badge was prominently displayed on the car unveiled during the Triple Eight announcement prior to the season kickoff. This move represents a broader adjustment in Ford’s racecar branding strategy on a global scale, a process that commenced midway through the previous year.
Throughout the 2024 season, most of the Mustangs had already reinstated the Blue Oval above the grille by the time the Symmons Plains round took place. While WAU’s cars were an exception to this trend last year, they too now proudly display the Ford badge on their vehicles for the 2025 season, which will be their final campaign with the Mustangs.
In addition to the front badge, Ford Performance branding remains prominently featured on the rear bumper of the Mustang Supercars. The Ford logo can also be spotted on the rear and C-pillars of each racing car, solidifying the brand’s presence and identity on the track.
This strategic move by Ford underscores the importance of brand identity and consistency across its racing programs. By reinstating the Blue Oval badge on the Mustang Supercars, Ford aims to strengthen its connection with fans and enthusiasts, while also aligning its racing vehicles more closely with the iconic road-going Mustang models.
The return of the Ford badge to all Supercars Mustangs signifies a nod to tradition and heritage, showcasing the enduring legacy of the Blue Oval in motorsport. As Ford continues to evolve its racing programs and brand presence, the iconic badge serves as a symbol of excellence, performance, and a rich racing heritage that resonates with fans around the world.
