LDV has made a significant change to its D90 seven-seater SUV, opting for a turbo-petrol engine over the previous diesel variant. The facelifted model features a more modern design with a revamped exterior while retaining the same underpinnings as the T60 dual-cab ute. The model lineup includes the budget-friendly Mode 2WD, the Executive with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive options, and all versions come with seven seats and a host of features.
All D90 variants are equipped with LED lighting, alloy wheels, dual 12.3-inch screens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control aircon, and more. The diesel engine has been replaced by a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder petrol engine generating 184kW/410Nm, paired with an eight-speed auto transmission. The SUV offers good clearance and towing capacity, making it suitable for both urban driving and off-road adventures.
Despite a slight delay in steering response and some road noise, the D90 offers impressive ride comfort and body control. The model now includes additional safety features such as speed sign recognition, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control. The fuel efficiency is around nine liters per 100km, making it a practical choice for daily driving.
The interior of the LDV D90 provides ample space with three rows of seating that can accommodate adults comfortably. The second-row offers sliding adjustment and ISOFIX points, while all rows have air vents and good visibility. The SUV is covered by a seven-year/200,000km warranty and includes a five-year roadside assistance program, but lacks capped-price servicing.
Overall, the LDV D90 is positioned as a value-focused family SUV with generous space and enhanced technology features. While it may not suit everyone’s preferences, it offers a compelling option for those seeking a practical and versatile seven-seater vehicle.
