European sports brand Cupra is making waves in Australia with the introduction of the all-new electric SUV coupe, the 2025 Cupra Tavascan. Priced competitively at $60,990 plus on-road costs, the Tavascan is set to shake up the market for dynamic electric SUVs.
Cupra’s aggressive pricing strategy positions the Tavascan in direct competition with other popular electric models like the Tesla Model Y and the BYD Sealion 7. With a strong focus on providing comprehensive aftersales support, Cupra offers a generous warranty package, including a 5-year vehicle warranty, 8-year battery warranty, and 5 years of roadside assistance.
The Cupra Tavascan comes in two variants: the rear-wheel drive Endurance model and the all-wheel drive VZ model. The Endurance, priced at $60,990, boasts a 210kW electric motor and a driving range of up to 534km. On the other hand, the VZ model, priced at $74,490, offers even more power with twin motors generating 250kW and a driving range of 499km.
Standard features on the Cupra Tavascan Endurance include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, powered tailgate, smart entry, and a 15-inch infotainment system. An optional interior package adds premium features like a 360-degree camera, premium sound system, and ambient lighting. The VZ model builds on these features with all-wheel drive, larger wheels, and a panoramic glass roof.
Cupra enthusiasts can further customize their Tavascan with an extreme package that includes performance upgrades and premium interior finishes. The Tavascan is now available for sale in Australia, with test drives offered at Cupra showrooms across the country.
Both Tavascan variants are equipped with a 77kWh battery, offering competitive driving ranges of up to 534km for the Endurance model and 499km for the VZ model. Fast charging capabilities allow the Tavascan to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes, making it convenient for on-the-go charging needs.
As part of the Volkswagen Group, Cupra is known for its European styling and driving performance. The brand’s expansion into the electric vehicle market aligns with the industry trend towards sustainable mobility solutions. With the Tavascan leading the charge, Cupra is set to make a significant impact on the Australian market.
In addition to the Tavascan, Cupra has a lineup of vehicles, including the Leon, Formentor, Ateca, and the new Born electric small car. The brand’s future plans include introducing the Terramar SUV and updating existing models to meet evolving consumer demands.
With the 2025 Cupra Tavascan now available for purchase, Australian consumers have the opportunity to experience the blend of performance, style, and sustainability that Cupra brings to the electric vehicle market.
