The Melbourne Motor Show has made a grand return after a 14-year absence, boasting an impressive lineup of over 20 automakers set to showcase their latest vehicles. Scheduled for April 5 and 6, 2025, the event will feature prominent manufacturers such as Kia, Isuzu Ute, Porsche, Tesla, MG, GWM, and Subaru, among others.

Among the highlights of the show is the global premiere of the 2025 MG QS seven-seat large SUV, poised to rival established models like the Toyota Kluger and Hyundai Palisade. MG Australia’s chief operating officer, Giles Belcher, expressed excitement about the QS’s debut, emphasizing its value proposition in the competitive SUV segment.

MG’s lineup will also include the S5 electric SUV, HS Hybrid+ family SUV, and the Cyberster electric roadster, along with the luxury ‘IM Presented by MG Motor’ sub-brand featuring the IM5 and IM6 electric cars. Kia, on the other hand, will unveil its Tasman ute for the first time to the public, alongside the EV3 electric small SUV and the mid-size EV5.
Isuzu Ute Australia confirmed that the Isuzu D-Max ute and the MU-X off-road SUV will take the spotlight at the show, including the locally reengineered D-Max Blade developed by Walkinshaw Automotive. Electric and hybrid car specialist BYD will showcase its Shark 6 plug-in hybrid ute and Sealion 7 electric SUV, while GWM will display the Cannon Alpha PHEV and Haval H6 GT PHEV.

Other confirmed vehicles at the Melbourne Motor Show include the Leapmotor C10 REEV range-extender hybrid, Geely EX5, and the McLaren Artura Spider. Inchcape Australia will present the new-generation Subaru Forester, Peugeot models, and the Deepal S07 EV, among others. Tesla’s facelifted Model Y will also make an appearance, alongside the Cybertruck ute and the Tesla Optimus robot.

Organizers have revealed that the show will feature 87 aftermarket exhibitors, including well-known brands like Hot Wheels, Lego, and Red Bull, as well as unique displays such as an electric fire truck from Fire Rescue Victoria. General admission tickets for the event are priced at $35 for adults.

With a diverse range of vehicles and exhibits on offer, the 2025 Melbourne Motor Show promises to be a significant event for automotive enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. The resurgence of this prestigious showcase after more than a decade underscores the enduring appeal and innovation within the Australian car market.
