The 2025 Melbourne Motor Show is set to make a grand return after a hiatus of nearly 15 years, with organizers announcing the participation of 23 manufacturers who will be unveiling a total of “nine new cars.” Among the prominent brands confirmed to showcase their latest models are Kia, Isuzu Ute, Porsche, Tesla, MG, GWM, and Subaru. Additionally, several new players in the Australian market, primarily from China, will be making their debut, including Deepal, Farizon, Foton, Geely, JAC, Leapmotor, Smart, Xpeng, and Zeekr.
Peugeot, represented by its Inchcape distributor, will be present alongside Mahindra and Brabus, known for their customized luxury vehicles. While Mitsubishi was initially listed as an attendee, it has been omitted from the final lineup. The show organizers have teased the unveiling of at least nine new cars, with MG hinting at showcasing some of its models.
Although the specifics of the vehicles to be displayed remain undisclosed, Kia might present the 2025 Kia Tasman ute and its electric-car lineup, including the EV3, EV5, EV6 facelift, and EV9. The revamped 2025 Isuzu MU-X off-road SUV and the updated 2025 Tesla Model Y electric SUV are also anticipated to make an appearance, along with the new-generation 2025 Subaru Forester hybrid mid-size SUV.
Scheduled for April 5 and 6, 2025, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 2025 Melbourne Motor Show will not only feature the latest cars but also host 87 aftermarket exhibitors, including big names like Hot Wheels, Lego, and Red Bull. The event, spearheaded by Craig Phinn, marks the revival of the Melbourne Motor Show title, which had last been held in 2009 before being merged with the Sydney event in 2011.
Historically, the Melbourne Motor Show traces its roots back to 1925, organized by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC), while the Sydney counterpart was managed by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI). The 2025 edition promises to be a significant automotive extravaganza, with a diverse range of manufacturers and aftermarket exhibitors showcasing their latest offerings. For car enthusiasts and industry professionals alike, the 2025 Melbourne Motor Show is shaping up to be a must-attend event, heralding a new era in the Australian automotive landscape.
