2025 Melbourne Motor Show: 23 Manufacturers Unveil 9 New Cars

The 2025 Melbourne Motor Show is set to make a grand return after a hiatus of nearly 15 years, promising car enthusiasts a glimpse of innovation and style with the unveiling of nine new cars by 23 manufacturers. Organizers have confirmed the participation of various well-known brands like Kia, Isuzu Ute, Porsche, Tesla, MG, GWM, and Subaru, along with new entrants to the Australian market, particularly from China, such as Deepal, Farizon, Foton, Geely, JAC, Leapmotor, Smart, Xpeng, and Zeekr.

Peugeot, represented by its Inchcape distributor, will showcase its lineup, while Mahindra and German-tuner Brabus will exhibit their customized vehicles. Although Mitsubishi was initially listed as an attendee, it is no longer part of the final lineup. The event anticipates debuting at least nine new cars, including potential models like the 2025 Kia Tasman ute, the facelifted 2025 Isuzu MU-X off-road SUV, the updated 2025 Tesla Model Y electric SUV, and the new-generation 2025 Subaru Forester hybrid mid-size SUV.

Scheduled for April 5-6, 2025, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the show will not only feature new cars but also host 87 aftermarket exhibitors, including renowned names like Hot Wheels, Lego, and Red Bull. This revival of the Melbourne Motor Show, directed by Craig Phinn, marks a significant moment as the event carries the prestigious title after a long hiatus since 2009.

The historical context of the Melbourne Motor Show dates back to 1925, with the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) organizing previous editions. The last joint Sydney-Melbourne motor show under the ‘Australian International Motor Show’ banner took place in 2011 before being canceled in 2012. This year’s show promises to be a unique blend of tradition and modernity, offering car enthusiasts a platform to witness the latest automotive trends and technologies.

As anticipation builds for the 2025 Melbourne Motor Show, car aficionados eagerly await the unveiling of cutting-edge vehicles and the opportunity to explore a diverse range of automotive innovations. The return of this iconic event signifies a renaissance in the Australian automotive landscape, bringing together established manufacturers and emerging brands to showcase the future of mobility in an immersive and engaging setting.
