Skoda Auto India is gearing up for the launch of the next-generation Kodiaq in the Indian market. In preparation for this new SUV, the outgoing model has been discontinued and removed from the official website. With this move, Skoda now offers the Kushaq and the recently launched Kylaq alongside the Slavia in its lineup.
Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq showcases significant design enhancements compared to its predecessor. The new model features sleek LED headlamps, a redesigned bumper, and 20-inch alloy wheels, giving it a fresh look. At the rear, the SUV boasts C-shaped LED tail lights connected by a light bar.
Inside, the three-row Kodiaq receives notable updates, including a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a toggle-type gear selector. The SUV also offers premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a high-end music system.
In terms of safety, the new Kodiaq will be equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree camera with parking assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SUV will also come with nine airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.
Powered by a 2.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque, the Skoda Kodiaq rides on the MQB Evo platform. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. While a plug-in hybrid variant is available internationally, it will not be offered in the Indian market.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be launched in India in April with an estimated ex-showroom price of around Rs 45 lakh. Upon its release, the SUV will face competition from models like the Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail.
Industry experts anticipate that the next-generation Skoda Kodiaq will set new benchmarks in the SUV segment with its advanced features, refined design, and competitive pricing. As the automotive market continues to evolve, consumers can expect more innovative offerings from manufacturers to meet the growing demands for performance, safety, and comfort in vehicles.
