Great Wall Motor (GWM) recently introduced the gasoline-powered Haval Raptor in China, expanding its lineup with the 2.0T 4WD Pro and 2.0T 4WD Ultra models priced at 156,900 yuan and 166,900 yuan respectively. This launch marked a shift from the previously available PHEV variant, offering customers more choices in the SUV segment.
The Haval Raptor ICE variant comes in two size specifications, catering to different preferences with options like the spare external tire version and the spare external box version. Both configurations share a common wheelbase of 2738 mm and are equipped with distinct tire sizes. The SUV is available in five exterior colors, adding a touch of personalization for buyers.
Retaining the iconic square box design, the Haval Raptor boasts traditional elements like door handles and roof racks while integrating modern features such as a new grille design and advanced lighting technology. The vehicle’s rear showcases innovative longitudinal taillights composed of numerous LEDs, adding a contemporary flair to the classic SUV.
Designed for off-road adventures, the Haval Raptor offers impressive performance metrics including a 2.0T engine with 175 kW of power and 385 Nm of torque. Coupled with a 9DCT transmission and intelligent four-wheel drive system, the SUV delivers a seamless driving experience. Additionally, the vehicle features a range of driving modes to adapt to various terrains and conditions.
Inside the cabin, the Haval Raptor received upgrades such as a flat-bottom steering wheel, a large LCD instrument panel, and a central control screen for enhanced user experience. The vehicle’s operating system integrates GWM’s Coffee OS 3.0, providing seamless connectivity and entertainment options for occupants.
Equipped with level 2 advanced driving assistance systems, the Haval Raptor ensures safety and convenience on the road with features like automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The SUV also offers ample storage space, with a standard trunk volume of 586 L expandable to 1404 L when needed, catering to practical needs of daily use.
Industry experts view the introduction of the Haval Raptor ICE variant as a strategic move by GWM to cater to a broader consumer base and capitalize on the growing demand for versatile SUVs in the Chinese market.
