Issue 2 - Anthony Topp - XW Ford GT
The XW GT is one of Ford’s most popular cars ever to be driven on our streets and to own one no matter what disguise it wears is one of the highest honours you can claim, especially if it’s an original. Anthony Topp or Toppy as he is known to his mates has claimed that honour and then some with this immaculate GT. He is the physical training instructor with the First Battalion Royal Australian Regiment so he sure knows tough when he sees it. Issue 8 - Phatty and Brett's Sendoff
It looked like a scene from Summernats – a pile of tough cars rocking up, all detailed to the hilt, but this day wasn't a car show or a competition, it was the day to say our goodbyes to Brett and Phatty. Those in the car scene, especially in South East Queensland, would have seen or known Brett and Phatty.... two of the most entertaining characters you could ever met. Unfortunately their lives were cut short by a road accident and they have passed on way earlier than we all would have liked. The who's who of the car scene turned up in their hundreds to say their respects and goodbyes in one of the most touching funerals I have ever been too; a happy, but at the same time sad ceremony. It’s so hard to say goodbye to friends or family that mean the world. I definitely know we will miss their laughter and pranks around the traps and I’m thinking we will all need to get some new inspiration without them egging everyone on to skid it...... With that in mind that's what everyone did, it might not have been legal and everyone is responsible for their own actions but everyone showed Brett and Phatty the respect they would have wanted. For the people that knew them there was no other way they would have wanted to go out ... and that was with a bang ...namely the sound of Amanda popping both tires. Raise your glass and here’s to Phatty and Brett; two of the most genuine and out there guys we will never forget! words and pix by Just Dave
