Issue 8 - Lawrence Glen’s Nissan 200sx
Not many cars go through transformations as big as Lawrence Glen’s S14 has. If you were to go back in time roughly six years, you would see a stock luxury spec auto. That’s how it was when Lawrence obtained ownership. He and the car have since relocated to sunny Queensland where Lawrence runs hardtuned.net and his consulting business. However, the car was built primarily to promote nissansilvia.com. The car was to be used mainly as a daily driver with a few track days thrown in the mix and was set up with this in mind. It remained this way for a few years until Drift Australia gained popularity and Lawrence decided it was time for an upgrade. From this point it was set up for drifting and the Silvia is now a regular competitor at sprint and drift competitions.
Issue 6 - Lincoln Doring's Lowlux Mini-truck - iCandy Custom Resprays
Mini Trucks have become quite popular in the last ten years. Their awesome sheetmetal work and wicked stance are to be admired on the street or in a show. One thing is for sure though, a lot of work goes into these trucks, and sometimes more than what it takes to build a muscle car or street rod so if you plan to build one for yourself, you better be prepared. Lincoln Doring took the plunge and it paid off as you can so plainly see. Issue 11 - World Time Attack Challenge 2011
August 5th and 6th played host to one of the biggest import related car events in Australia with the Advan World Time Attack Challenge at Eastern Creek in New South Wales.... You ask but this is Queensland Street Car magazine... what's that got to do with us.... With a huge contingent of us heading down to spectate and compete we decided to run a feature on the mad event and what went down! The main contenders that went down to compete was Mercury Motorsport and GT Autos, both with the state of the art GTR 35's, both the same car but both completely different in pretty much every other aspect. Mercury Motorsports Skyline was debuting the car at the Eastern Creek Track with its owner Mark Hanson behind the wheel for most of the Weekend with Japanese drive Eiji “Tarzan” Yamada from the Cyber Evo team jumping in to have a few laps as well... the extra laps up Tarzans sleeve in different cars gave him the advantage for when he jumped back in his own Evo 9 running the Fastest Lap time of the whole weekend almost 5 seconds faster than his time last year with a whooping 1:28.8510 sec lap time around the fast flowing circuit to take out the event in the Pro Class against the famous Pan Speed Rx7 from Japan and the Sierra Sierra Mitsubishi Evo 8 from the USA . Mark Berry in his Advan / Hi Octane Sponsored GTR 34 was a definite crowd pleaser in the Skyline department the fully aero dynamically designed 34 GTR from Queensland was the fastest of the GTRS on the weekend with an impressive 1:31.9050 but that was still only good enough for sixth place. The competition was that fierce that only five seconds separated the top 10 drivers throughout all the pro cars from Mitsubishi Evos to Mazda Rx7, Silvia S15s even a Lotus Exige GT3 all tricked out in carbon fibre and any mod they could get their hands on to make that extra second. by Dragphotos.com.au
