Issue 7 - Morayfield Auto Spectacular
The first ever Morayfield Auto Spectacular recently took place on a what turned out to be a very hot Saturday, at Morayfield High School. The event was organised by Caboolture Community Action (a non-profit volunteer group) to raise funds to assist the homeless and the disadvantaged in the Caboolture Area. Being the first time that this show had been run, Event organisers were unsure of what sort of turn out to expect. Advertising for the event had begun several months in advance with the support of Caboolture local radio and via the local newspaper, the show gained a lot of local support and numbers. To make sure the toughest and best cars of Brisbane would be on show, flyer drops were done all over the Brisbane metro area, and even as far west as Toowoomba. The turn-out was far better than expected for this first show with over two hundred and sixty car enthusiasts answering the call to enter their pride and joy. Helping make the day a great success was the support of many local businesses and stall operators who all put in time both prior to the event and on the day. -

Issue 8 - Burdekin AutoFest
There was a bit of a panic for the organisers of the 2011 Burdekin Auto Festival in the days leading up to the event. The usual venue, the Ayr Showgrounds had suffered badly in the wet weather, and it was just not going to be appropriate to hold the car show there. Thankfully the good folk of ‘The Burdekin Race Club’ came to the rescue offering their grounds at Home Hill, they even rushed repairs that their facility needed thanks to Cyclone Yasi, so that the show could go on. -
